MYCOMATIC® Thai Elephant Dung Spore Syringe (P. Cubensis)
Strain Origin
The renowned mycologist John W. Allen, known for meticulously cataloging over 30 distinct strains of psilocybe cubensis, is credited with the initial encounter with the Thai Elephant Dung strain. This particular discovery unfolded on the picturesque island of Koh Samui in Thailand, a locale also recognized for yielding the Koh Samui Super Strain.
As the name subtly implies, the Thai Elephant Dung mushroom was located in close proximity to, or sometimes directly upon, sizable heaps of elephant excrement that emitted steamy warmth. It is surmised that this strain successfully thrived within the lush, tropical climate of Thailand, capitalizing on the rich and nutrient-laden dung left behind by the resident elephants.
Following the fortuitous discovery of these mushrooms, John W. Allen embarked on the task of collecting spore prints from the fruiting bodies. These prints served a dual purpose, as they were employed both for his personal cultivation endeavors and to be shared with his fellow mycologist colleagues back home, contributing to the ongoing exploration and understanding of this fascinating strain.
